Middlesex University at Pride 2022: Pride in London, London Trans+ Pride, UK Black Pride, and Bi Pride UK

As Pride celebrations and protests returned after the pandemic, #TeamMDX joined in the fun at Pride in London, London Trans+ Pride, UK Black Pride, and Bi Pride UK. Here are some of our favourite memories in pictures, containing a rainbow or two!

Pride in London — Saturday 2 July 2022

In 2022, we celebrated 50 years since the first Pride march in the United Kingdom. Pride in London’s hashtag for 2022 was #AllOurPride, and our Middlesex University group of staff, students, alumni and friends marched under the banner of United in Pride.

London Trans+ Pride — Saturday 9 July 2022

London Trans+ Pride is a response to the injustices that trans+ people face daily, all over the world. Just as in the Pride in London Parade, we marched in unity alongside colleagues, students and friends from numerous other universities across London.

UK Black Pride — Sunday 14 August 2022

UK Black Pride is Europe’s largest celebration for African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean-heritage LGBTQI+ people. Taking place in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the festival for 2022 was the biggest yet with some 25,000 people in attendance.

Bi Pride UK — Saturday 3 September 2022

Bi Pride UK is an award-winning celebration of people who experience attraction beyond gender, allowing them to be freely visible and to celebrate themselves and their identities. The one-day event took place at The People’s Palace on the Queen Mary University of London campus, and was one of the UK’s largest gatherings of bi people in history.
